Visualizing An Indigenous Administration -Synopsis of the Blue Prints
Oct 2, 2007

Introduction:

In the face of of cynics bad-mouthing concerning the inner motives of this consciousness drive for the indigenous, in spite of the unenthusiastic misinformation in discrediting our labors, mindful of the apprehensiveness being imbued as a result of character assassination equating our pains with failure and political bankruptcy, one thing is certain, we are untiring in cultivating our vision for the reincarnation of the indigenous supremacy reminisce of the period prior to the arrival of the settlers, necessitating the unearthing of a “Blue Print” for a future envisage Government led by natives in Liberia.

Bearing in mind the unpredictability of life and in realization of the transitory nature of life borrowed from reading the “Platonic Philosophy”, I can say for sure that I am lost, whether or not I will be around to see this day? I am hoping that despite our sinful deeds, the Lord will have mercy in allowing us making our own inputs in this political dispensation. At the same time, it is imperative to unequivocally note in this public manner, that this government will in no way try to neither alienate nor discriminate against any group of people, but rather all shall be treated alike as enshrines in our constitution. In fact, this is one of the reasons why we want an indigenous government, which will be an embodiment of all of the elements of the Liberia nation. This clarity is necessary in order to alley the fear that we were about to repeat history.

Historical Projection:

Although painful when one scrupulously tries to unearth the dark days of the Americo-Liberians era, when they viciously mistreated the indigenous with impunity, replica of what the white man did, when they were languishing in slavery in the Americas. It is unbelievable that despite being merciful to them during their time of misery, they capitalized on the generosity of the indigenous, wittingly disfranchising them for century. It is an irony that despite the violent over throw of the evil empire, and the intermittent in- house fight leading to election and subsequent return of the remnants of the evil empire, history is once again repeating it self. It is absolute stupidity that they would try to indulge in similar acts at a time when the indigenous have made great progress that far surpass them. There action is reminisce of a blind man venturing in a crocodile and sharks infested water where he could be devoured with in minutes. The present realities of the indigenous of the 21st Century are far different from what appears in the 1800s.

Blue Prints of a Future Native Government:

Blue Prints Number One—Reconciliation:

With the inks of war and disunity barely dry, it would be unimaginable that real progress and development can be achieved in the absence of concrete efforts in reconciling with all the feuding parties. In short, the need in having round table discussions, community and town hall meeting, where the issues from the closets could be brought out for amicable resolution void of any deceit. This is what that is needed unlike the cosmetic and pseudo rhetoric’s of reconciliation that is being sang at the corridor of power for mere political consumption. We will ensure for the first time that various tribes that have been at loggerhead meet and sort out their difference. By this never again, will any one succeed in breeding seed of discord igniting conflict eventually destroying our country. Although may appear illusive, but we are optimistic, that for the first time, the “Mandingoes Gios, Manos, Krahn”, and others may all eat in one pan; for the first time that issue of “Settlers or Americo-Liberians” would be something of the past. For the first time, discrimination, sectionalism, nepotism, religiosity would all be placed in the dustbin of history.

Blue Prints Number two—Political Inclusiveness:

Gauging the political multiplicity of the various actors, the tribal configuration of the Liberia nation, and couple with the strategic stratification of the nation wealth every effort would be applied in ensuring that this government becomes an embodiment of all of the issue mentioned supra. In short, we will ensure that all of the contending interests are absorbed as necessary once and for all removing this resentment we have been germinating in African governments with Liberia being of no exception. For the first time will eliminate “The One Win And One Take All Syndrome”. For the first time we have a government of true inclusiveness. Political parties, interest groups and even the least of the downtrodden masses will have a place in this political equation. Please, don’t mistake me by inferring that I perceive an illusive communist type “Classless Society”. Unlike others, we will shift our democracy in conformity with the prevailing reality of our situation. This government will be the hopes and aspirations of the masses, the conscience of the oppressed and the trademark for future governments in the horn of Africa.

Blue Prints Number three----Economic Empowerment:

The insatiable greed in accumulating weal even to the point that could lead to destruction and the annihilation of an entire population has led to conflicts and human miseries since time immemorial, with Liberia being of no exception. In abhorrence of this despicable system, we intend to have an effective mechanism in handling the resources of the Country, wherein, every one benefits, unlike what have been unfolding in Liberia under the rule of the Americo-Liberians. It is unimaginable, that people would be placed in governance that didn’t have any sense of patriotism nor nationalism. Liberia was considered as a farmland where they extracted the wealth and pay mortgages and builds the home of their ancestors. How do you expect to see development, when those that were in power where American first, and Liberian second? You need to have people who will not be halfway Liberian, and the other half American. You see all along, they didn’t have the country at heart so the indigenous were not empowered. How does some one claim to have own the present “Education Ministry”? This is sheer baloney and mere joke at the highest level. This is corruption. This is one of the reasons why we will try to stamp out corruption through the empowerment of the people first as the first lane of attack before the judicial process coming next.

Unlike before, we will strive to ensure that people with the country at heart placed in strategic areas in government. You don’t expect a stranger that doesn’t want to be identified with Lofa trying for the road to be paved up to Mendekoma in Foya, Lofa County. It is only an indigenous that would think about such a thing. If one visits one of the neighboring countries, you feel ashamed about the pace of development considering the length of independence as compare to others. One of the reasons for that were the leaders were all imposters who were not loyal to the country.

As part of the development package, unlike the past, we will empower the indigenous through soft loans wherein, they could be entrepreneurs creating an eventual “Middle Class”. As it is now, either you are rich at the edge of the scale or you poor at the lowest ebbs. Never again, will we allow capitol out floor, as it is now prevalent. For example, if you have a “Finance Minister” who doesn’t even have a kitchen in Liberia, do you expect that person to have compassion or mercy on the ordinary indigenous? No, he or she will be self centered and individualistic.

Blue Prints---Four, Religiosity:

Realizing the sentimental nature of religion and in consonance with the wishes of the framers of the constitution regarding the secularity of the constitution and the need for religious tolerance, every thing would be done in ensuring that a dichotomy is drawn between religion and the State. As enshrines in “Article 14 of the Constitution of Liberia,” every thing would be done in allowing the free religious expression. No religious denomination shall have special treatment over the other, but rather all shall be treated alike. Apart, the country shall establish no state religion. With this, the issue of die-hard religious feud would be some of thing of past.

Blue Print Five---Security:

In International politics, security concern must supercede all other considerations. In short, every thing would be done in ensuring that the present stalemate regarding the “Government and the disbanded securities” is resolved amicably. Unlike the present strategy, every thing would be done in having a round table discussion with all of the aggrieved securities with the hope of reconciling. In short, those with impeccable credentials and competence would be reconsidered under our arrangement. With this one doesn’t have to worry about any issue of rebelliousness.

Blue Print Six---Foreign Policy:

Good neighborliness is an important component of foreign policy, which will be enhanced under our administration. Mindful of the stigma of the past with Liberia being in the vanguard of destabilization, we will ensure that we maintain the spirit and tenant of sub regional, multilateral organizations expected as a sovereign nation. Never will we repeat the history of the past wherein, Liberia was used as a save heaven for mercenaries and the breeding ground for rebels and rebelliousness in neighboring countries. Never, again will Liberia be considered as a failed state.

Concluding:

Again, we wish to maintain that there are frantic efforts on the part of patriotic Liberians in ensuring that that this vision is achieved with the coming election on mind. At the same time we have started compiling names for people interested in being part of the “Consultative Committee” for plan conference of the natives.
