John Morlu Unceremonious voyage- A Candid Reflection

 Introduction:
I don’t know the person John Morlu nor have I met him or interacted with him in any way necessary. But the fact is I am one of his secret admirers who have been following his lead in advocacy against corruptions and other negative vices in our new democracy. Whether or not he is genuine or will be successful is yet to be fashioned as time unfolds. Nevertheless, one thing is conspicuous, he been the focus of controversy since shouldering the mantle of authority as “Auditor General of Liberia”. Although, submerged in other unsolved problems with the leadership in Liberia, but would be interesting to know exactly what unfolded that led to his unceremonious voyage from Liberia and what could be done to remedy the situation.
President Sirleaf Corruption Crusade:
Engulfed with history of corruption and moral bankruptcy, one of the pillars of the Sirleaf led government was to launch a crusade against this cancerous embedded enemy, which elimination considered by the International Community as one of the benchmarks for any sustainable package in developing our fragile economy. Amidst the hanging challenge, when John Morlu was selected among the pool of financial experts, it was a welcoming development. The EU selection of this fine young man of the soil was a desirable progress in that he is competent and moreover, has the requisite experiences. He been effective is several countries world wide, where he made the vital achievements as an auditor. It is the candid view of the International Community that he can deliver the goods if given the maximum supports.
Morlu’s Blanket Trade marks:
Whether or not Morlu assertion that, the Ellen Johnson Administration was far more corrupt than the Charles G. Bryant Administration is yet to be determined by the public, but in all consideration it was an embarrassment to the government and a stigma that is still invigorating in the inner circles of the Liberians and our foreign partners. Although, government made frantic efforts in demonizing him and unearthing her side of the story, but to a larger extent failed to achieve the desire goal. Since than, the political marriage that was once nourished became acerbic with recounting blood feud day by day. Analysts have predicted his sacking had it not been because of his competence and the uncompromising desire of the International Community in maintaining his presence despite his controversial nature.
Desirous of cleaning his own entity, Morlu was again embroiled in bitter political shuttling with the House of Representative, when he brusquely fired several employees of his agency for reasons considered by him as tangible. Although, told to reverse it in that some Members of the First Branch of Government saw it not based on equity or justifiable, but refused. It is a known fact that he been very unpopular with the status quo for being stubborn and not wanting to be on the same wave length when comes to certain issues of national concerns.
Recent Out Flight:
In the wake of development pinpointed with Morlu, it appears as though he has a pattern of being at loggerhead with the rank. Apart, it portrays him as being an overexcited confrontational person with no sense of respect for human decency. This is one of the reasons why many of those who have been following his trails are concerned about recent development. The government accuses him of blatantly damaging the glass door at the “Robert International Air Port” why in hasty mood to get on board a departing Kenya Air way Flight destined for the US. The question is, did he really do it or not? Granted that he did it, we call on him to refrain from such a behavior and sort harmonious relationship with the Government. On the other hand, if, he didn’t do it, then I call on Government to be apologetic and start anew with the brother for the sake of the nation.
Cautious Approach:
Mindful of the statement by the government that the issue has been transferred to the Justice Ministry for onward adjudication to be mindful not to set a negative precedent where in, the negative attribute of eating each other when a revolution matures is not applicable in this instance. It is imperative to indicate that a house divided by it self can’t stand. Why the blood feud when all of you are members of the same “Unity Party”. Since the gentlemen took responsibility to have the glass repaired, must be forgiven and let him be allowed to returned void of any further litigation of the issue.
Words of Admonition to Morlu:
You had called me twice, although we didn’t have the time to explain in detail what I would have told you, but I am obliged to caution you not to resign in the wake of the speculations that you were about to relegate the position for fear of your life. You need to have faith and believed in the “Concept of Pre-destination” in doing your job. You owe the new democracy a helping hand in transforming her economy so that the socio-politico and economic formation will be tempting and habitable.
