Felmausa Again

This is a response to an open letter published on Felmausa’s web site.

I was taken aback by the letter that surfaced on Felmausa’s web site, which was addressed to me, the chairman of the board of advisers of the Minnesota Mandingo Association. I received the identical letter two weeks a go from one of our members, Osman Bamba, whose actual residence still remains unknown. Anyway that is not the issue at hand.

Upon the receipt of said letter, I immediately called my colleagues on the board to inform them about a letter of complaint sent to me from one of our brothers regarding the amendment of our constitution. I then scheduled a meeting for us, board members, to critically examine this delicate matter. Interestingly, our first meeting brought out sensitive things that no one previously though of. I called MMA’s President, Musa Kamara and informed him about this letter, which he welcome and said, “I appreciate it. That is democracy”. I told President Kamara that the board would be meeting with him and his corps of officers in due course regarding this matter.

It was noticed that the content of this letter is very good but the tone in which it was expressed is bit harsh, unethical, and unacceptable. It was accepted based on the fact that democratic procedure was followed. We decided to address the main issue of importance, then come back to deal with the unethical concerns of the letter. At this moment, everyone seems to be confused about how to pursue this complaint. The president is furious about the publication of this letter. We asked him to remain resolute and focus. As a matter of fact, this letter implies or telling the world that our president is a novice and does not know what he’s doing, which is wrong.

It has also been keenly observed that this brother (the writer) is in the habit of using profane or derogatory statements on people he differs with. Years back, he told another brother here to write children book if he does not have anything to write about. I don’t really know what he meant by that. He also wrote on Felmausa’s web site addressing some members of MMA as “not married”, and therefore they are not responsible enough to say anything of concern to the Mandingo Community. I think this brother needs to be moderate with his choice of words.

What is more disheartening to me is the judgment made by the leadership of the so called Mandingo Federation to post this letter on their web site. From all indications, this suggests to me that Felmausa is only interested in negativity coming from Minnesota. I think it would have been a prudent idea to tell the writer of this letter to pursue his case with the addressee and that you (Felmausa) will be interested in a favorable result, which you will be happy to comment on. Instead, you chose the contrary. This action reminds me of what happened during our inaugural program in January when Felmausa surrogates were planted to disrupt our program. I won’t go into that, all I can say is that they failed and we succeeded. To my disbelieve again, Felmausa received an article from MMA’s Press Secretary, Alh Donzo on events covering the Mother’s Day program we had here in Minnesota , which they refused to post it on their web site instead put up something from Minnesota that makes them laugh. Do you think by writing at the bottom of this letter that: “this letter does not reflect or share the thoughts of Felmausa” excludes you from the damage already caused? That is too cheap for us folks, but this will not deter us. We will continue to make meaningful contributions for the well-being of the Mandingo communities. That was my message to our President, Musa Kamara, that by all measures he is scoring high, above average. May the almighty Allah bless and guard the Mandingo community.

Thanks,
