LIBERIAN WRITER, NVASEKIE KONNEH, MAKES BOOK SIGNING TOUR STOP AT KENDEJAH RESTAURANT & LOUNGE
Press Release
June 14, 2004

Following the successful launching of his book, “Going To War For America” on April 24, 2004 in Philadelphia, the Liberian writer, Nvasekie Konneh is scheduled to make another appearance on July 3rd, 2004, this time in Washington DC at the famous Liberian restaurant and lounge, The Kendejah.  This will be one of many places Nvasekie plans to visit and sign copies of his book. Other areas on the agenda this summer are Atlanta, Georgia, Boston, Massachusetts, Chicago, Illinois, Minneapolis, Minnesota, etc.

According to the poet, since the launching of the book, the feedback has been tremendously positive from fellow Liberians as well as the military community he’s attached to. The most satisfying feeling he’s been having are from readers who have called and emailed him telling him how much they appreciate the book and how much they can relate to its contents. All of these have motivated the author to plan a book tour.

As of now, many of Nvasekie Konneh’s fellow sailors on board the USS Eisenhower are amazed to “discover” that their “shipmate” is something else other than just been a regular sailor. They too are catching on to what is fast becoming a hot topic with news going everywhere that “SK2 (SW) Konneh has written a book.”

Just like the April 24th event in Philadelphia, Nvasekie Konneh hopes that the Washington DC reading and signing will generate enough interest in the Washington DC and its metropolitan areas. “If we are successful in Washington DC, we will fellow our planned trips with high degree of motivation.  All of what we are doing is a  prelude to the official launching of the book in Liberia sometime in November 2004,” the writer said.
