Liberia: JFK receives LIMANY humanitarian assistance in Monrovia

The Humanitarian arm of the Liberia Mandingo Association of New York (LIMANY) yesterday donated variety of medical equipment to the Liberian-Japanese Friendship Maternity center at the John F. Kennedy medical Center in Sinkor.

 

Presenting the equipments and chairs to the Administration of JFK Hospital, an Executive of LIMANY Mr. Mohammed Kromah said his organization being US base Liberian organizaton was touched with the alarming humanitarian assistance needed by the hospital. He said transformation process especially after war should be the concern of all Liberians and not only the President or Government.

“As a Liberian, I am deeply touched and feel proud to stand here today at the Compound of JFK hospital to make these donations. We will always do our best to see Liberia take a positive step in the direction of recovery”, Mr. Kromah asserted.

Receiving the items on behalf of JFK Maternity Center, the Administration of Liberian-Japanese Friendship Maternity Center at the John F. Kennedy medical Hospital Mrs. Alice Freeman Myles said the donation came at the appropriate time adding “if all Liberians within and outside the country can do similar gesture like what LIMANY had done, then JFK will surely recover from the present stage it is in now.

She lauded the leadership of LIMANY for thinking about the hospital in its humanitarian and charitable outreach and promised to protect these donations which she termed as “very expensive” in a more secure way.

John F. Kennedy medical center is the only Government referral hospital in Monrovia. It is owned and operated by the Liberian Government and other international partners. LIMANY humanitarian assistance has cover the Church, hospital, Universities and Secondary Schools and other local communities.
