ones to fall by the way side, particularly at the time when they
will be needed most by Liberians to witness and deliver to us the
happenings of the coming elections.

TRIBALISM
VS. PEACE, WHICH WAY LIBERIANS?
(LIMANY
EDITORIAL) There is
so much to do in postwar Liberia if we are to achieve genuine peace,
and reconciliation. The task at hand is so huge, given the fact that
Liberia is still a tensely divided country on factional and
ethnic lines. One of the challenging aspects of this is the
persistent attitude of tribal prejudice and xenophobia exhibited by
most Liberians. Almost always, the Mandingoes are the targets of
this ugly attitude and we have seen it too many times before and
now.
Tribalism at
the University Of Liberia and Decentralization

attribute their renew interests in LIMANY, to the fact that the

THE SPIRITS OF RECONCILIATION
By Nvasekie Konneh
We Owe Our Children Better
What then is the essence of education if we can not meet, discuss,
and resolve our internal differences and set the pace for our
deserving children to build on? What difference does it make even if
we can individually join various political parties but with one
common agenda for the betterment of our people? While it is a
blessing for all of us to belong to the same tribe, it is at the
same time impracticable for us to see politic in the same direction.
We are ready to
start working. Are you ready?
I am honor to serve as LIMANY’S President until elections
are held, and will do my utmost to justify the confidence reposed in
me. Our administration will work with the membership and the Board
of Directors to immediately begin a registration drive and will
encourage all members to re-register so as to ensure fairness in the
upcoming elections. (FULL)
“Readiness”
Before Conducting Any Elections (Press Release)
To conduct free and fair elections, the electorate should be well
informed of the issues involved and the candidates participating. To
be able to form a well sound judgment, one ought to be part and
parcel of the process. By this, we mean one has to be present at
most meetings to appreciate and identify the players and issues
involved. It is not acceptable anymore to just show up and cast
votes. (FULL)
